A deadly bus accident in Yazd, Iran, has left at least 35 Pakistani pilgrims dead and 15 others seriously injured. The bus, with 53 passengers on board, overturned and caught fire near the Taftan-Dehshir checkpoint.
According to Maulana Qamar Abbas Naqvi from Larkana, 30 people died instantly, while five more passed away in the hospital. However, Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported a slightly lower death toll of 28. Hospitals in the area have been put on high alert to care for the injured.
Rescue teams and police quickly arrived to assist, transporting the victims to nearby hospitals. The cause of the crash is still being looked into.
