Reports regarding the arrest of former PTI MNA Faheem Khan in Saudi Arabia were addressed by the Foreign Office (FO) of Pakistan on Thursday. The spokesperson, Mumtaz Zehra Baloch, responded to inquiries, emphasizing that Pakistani citizens must adhere to the laws of the countries they visit.
During the press briefing, when asked if Faheem Khan had been released by the Saudi Arabian government, Baloch did not confirm his arrest or release. Instead, she urged journalists to verify such information independently.
Earlier, claims were made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) that Faheem Khan had been detained in Saudi Arabia. Allegations surfaced from the PTI Karachi chapter, suggesting that the arrest was influenced by the Pakistani government. The reason for his supposed detention, according to PTI, could be linked to a video he recorded in front of the Kaaba on May 9.
PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh mentioned that the party remains in contact with Faheem family and is actively working towards securing his release, utilizing all available resources to achieve this goal.
