After facing financial setbacks for nearly twenty years, Pakistan International Airlines finally turned a profit — a milestone that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif celebrated as a major breakthrough for the national carrier.

Pakistan International Airlines’ board has given the green light to its 2024 financial report, highlighting a long-anticipated recovery — with operating profits hitting Rs 3.9 billion and net income reaching Rs 2.26 billion, making it the airline’s first profitable year in many years.
