A tragic event unfolded in Islamabad when the roof of an under-construction building collapsed in the Humak area on Tuesday, leading to the deaths of at least five workers. Rescue teams quickly responded, arriving at the site shortly after receiving the emergency call. Two workers were successfully rescued, though one remains trapped beneath the debris, with ongoing efforts to save him.

According to rescue sources, the deceased include four individuals from Tuansa Sharif and one from the Malir area of Karachi, reflecting the far-reaching impact of this tragedy on different communities.

In light of the incident, Islamabad’s Deputy Commissioner, Irfan Memon, has launched an investigation to uncover the cause of the collapse. As a precautionary measure, the building has been sealed. The injured workers are currently receiving treatment at a hospital in the federal capital.

This incident highlights the inherent dangers of construction work and emphasizes the need for stringent safety measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

On August 21, a devastating event took place in Bannu district when lightning struck a house, leading to the collapse of its roof and the tragic deaths of two women. The incident occurred in the Khorgai Mosikhel area of Tehsil Domel during rainfall, as reported by local officials. The lightning caused the roof to cave in, trapping the women under the rubble.

In addition to the lives lost, seven other individuals were injured in the collapse. Emergency relief teams quickly responded and transported the injured to Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital in Bannu for medical treatment. This tragedy underscores the hazards that extreme weather conditions can bring and the need for vigilance during such occurrences.
