Monsoon Alert: Rain Expected Across Pakistan from September 2 to 5

From September 2 to 5, Pakistan will experience continued monsoon rains, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The advisory highlights the potential for flooding in both low-lying and urban areas.

The National Emergencies Operations Centre has forecasted that the monsoon rain system will impact various regions throughout this period. Moderate rainfall is anticipated in northeastern Punjab, while Pothohar, Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad may see light rain.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly within the Malakand and Hazara divisions, light to heavy rainfall is expected. Similarly, Balochistan regions, including the Qalat division, Quetta, Pishin, and the Kirthar and Koh Suleiman ranges, are also likely to experience light to heavy showers.

Light to moderate rainfall is forecasted for northern Sindh, which may lead to potential flooding in low-lying areas and urban centers, as well as other related risks.

The NDMA is urging everyone to keep up with the latest weather updates and alerts. It is important for those in at-risk areas to take necessary precautions and follow local authorities’ guidance. All relevant departments have been instructed to stay vigilant and enforce safety measures to safeguard the public.
