TikTok Star’s Mirror Painting Stuns Fans at Charity Shop Event

TikTok Star Sophie Tea Charms Fans with Charity Shop Surprise in Oxfordshire

Sophie Tea, a popular TikTok personality, recently delighted her fans in Oxfordshire by organizing a unique event. On Friday, she purchased a mirror from Witney Blue Cross, a local charity shop, as part of her ongoing “Charity Shop Friday” series. This series, aimed at promoting second-hand shopping, has already gained her over a million followers.

The event saw approximately 90 enthusiastic individuals gather at the shop. They came to meet Sophie Tea and participate in the raffle for the mirror she had painted. Ms. Tea expressed her amazement at the turnout, saying, “I can’t really believe it… I feel pretty lucky.”

In her series, Sophie Tea visits various charity shops across England, buys an item, and paints it on the same day before returning it for the same price. Fans are given hints about her whereabouts through social media, enabling them to join the excitement. Over the past 10 weeks, her travels have taken her to cities like Bristol, Worcester, London, Hertfordshire, Solihull, and Exeter.

Ms. Tea shared that the initiative began as a way to connect with people after returning to the UK from Sydney. What started as a simple idea has grown significantly, raising awareness about the benefits of second-hand shopping.

During her visit to Witney, Ms. Tea noted that the mirror was the largest surface she had ever painted. Additionally, she took the opportunity to visit the Blue Cross rehoming centre in Burford. Reflecting on her experience, she praised the center for its impressive work, saying, “They’ve been amazing. I got to see all the great work they do.”

The raffle for the painted mirror concluded with Laura Clark emerging as the lucky winner. Laura described the mirror as “beautiful.” After the event, Sophie Tea stayed at the store and signed about 60 items purchased by other customers, further engaging with her fans.
