On Tuesday, the United States expressed its condemnation of the recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. The attacks, which resulted in numerous casualties, were denounced by the U.S. as a grave violation of peace and stability.
The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs took to the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to voice their strong disapproval. It was stated that “the multiple attacks in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, which resulted in significant loss of life, are indefensible.”
Furthermore, the U.S. reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Pakistan in its ongoing battle against terrorism. “Our deepest condolences are extended to those who have lost their loved ones,” the statement added.
In a related development, US Department of State spokesman Matthew Miller clarified that both security personnel and civilians had been targeted in these attacks.
US and EU Condemn Balochistan Terror Attacks, Stress Need for Regional Security
He emphasized that the United States and Pakistan share a mutual interest in addressing threats to regional security.
At the same time, the European Union also expressed strong condemnation of the brutal attacks in Pakistan’s southwestern province.
The EU Commission Spokesperson, Nabila Massrali, reiterated on X that “terrorism and violence in any form have no place,” highlighting that such actions endanger the very foundations of democracy. “Our thoughts are with those affected by this senseless act,” she added.
It should be noted that over 70 individuals, including military soldiers and police personnel, were killed in multiple terrorist attacks in Balochistan on August 26.
