The World’s First AI Child Created

This digital avatar, resembling a young girl, is actually a significant advancement in Artificial Intelligence (AI) facial intelligence technology.

The world’s first AI child named TongTong (meaning little girl) created by Chinese scientists.

Scientists at the Beijing Institute for General Artificial Intelligence (BIGAI) created this AI girl. They said that she has the ability to learn things on her own and explore her surroundings.

They claim that TongTong can also express emotions.
They also explained that TongTong can express happiness, anger, or sadness like a 3-year-old child.

This AI child was introduced during an AI conference held in Beijing.
TongTong, unlike a robot, doesn’t have a physical body. Instead, she resides in a virtual environment and has the ability to interact with real-world individuals.

During this conference, people personally interacted with TongTong and also gave her instructions to perform tasks.

But its special feature is to manage various tasks responsibly on its own.
AI chatbots like ChatGPT or others respond only when instructed to do something at the moment and do not have the ability to do things on their own.

It’s not clear yet how much ability TongTong has to do things on its own, but according to scientists, it is more autonomous than other AI models.
