Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf should accept election results, not malign Pakistan’s armed forces

Ex-service men society chairman Lieutenant General (Retired) Abdul Qayyum says PTI should accept election results, not tarnish Pakistan’s armed forces and judiciary; if there are concerns about the results, relevant forums are available.

In a press conference in Rawalpindi, Lieutenant General (Retired) Abdul Qayyum said, ‘We stand with Pakistan’s ex-servicemen, striving to address their issues. A forum is essential for resolving the problems of martyrs’ families.

They said that we want to ensure national security remains intact, no harm comes to it. One party should not have a simple majority; rather, it should act based on its manifesto. The party gaining two-thirds majority should take everyone along.

Lieutenant General (Retd) Abdul Qayyum said that they condemn the disgraceful tactics used to tarnish Pakistan’s military leaders. Every day, the brave soldiers of the Pakistan Army are sacrificing their lives for the country.

They said that the demands of justice based on complaints should be fully addressed. Everyone should come together and resolve their issues. From Rana Sanaullah and Saad Rafique of the PML-N facing defeat, others should also have the courage to accept defeat.

They said that PTI should accept the election results, to avoid tarnishing the reputation of Pakistan’s military and judiciary. If there are concerns about the results, relevant forums are available. If direct talks are not possible, indirect dialogue can also take place. All leaders and institutions are advised to learn from the past and move forward positively.
