In response to the attack on its vehicle, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) decided to temporarily halt movements across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday. The WFP stated that the convoy of two armored vehicles had received the necessary clearances from Israeli authorities before approaching the checkpoint at the Wadi Gaza bridge. Despite the precautions, one of the vehicles was hit by at least 10 bullets. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
In a related development, the Iran-aligned Houthi group in Yemen has agreed to a temporary ceasefire. This truce will allow tugboats and rescue ships to reach a Greek-flagged crude oil tanker, Sounion, which had been damaged in the Red Sea.
